In our exclusive HONA Community Group on Facebook, we are often chin-wagging about what’s new and all that’s happening in the industry. We also share our work, and the work of all the awesome nail-techs in the HONA squad.
This month, we ran our Halloween Nail Art Competition, where we wanted to see all of your best 'Halloween Nails’ creations. There were so many incredible entries but the hugely talented, Abigail, is our celebrated winner.
The Winning Halloween Look
Abigail’s melted ghosts, swirls, layered heart, skull cherries and chequerboard look is a stunning showpiece. Her steady hand alone deserves a standing ovation so, having Abigail feature in this week’s Nail Tech Spotlight is the least we could do to shout out her awesome work.

Why We LOVE it!
This look will work for so many different clients. Those that like a fun and zany look for Halloween have their boxes ticked as they have the quirkiness of the lil’ ghosty and the cheeky cherry skulls. Despite the creative design and intricate nail art, there is still a level of classic elegance as the colours are monochrome, so clients who like to stick to simple colours will be happy too.

Peach Bellini Chrome
We were categorically FLOORED by this Peach Bellini look from Abigail. What a masterpiece in chrome nail art. The lipgloss nail trend is powering through autumn strong, and this stellar look is at the pinnacle of the trend with its almost impossible shine.

Why we LOVE it!
This look combines elegance and edginess in equal measures. It’s a masterclass in buffing and shining and it looks super-swish with the client’s skin tone. The copper/rose-gold shine creates a pretty-gal-vibe with a head-turning sheen.
Blue Hollow French
We absolutely love seeing the thousands of variations of the classic French manicures being created every day. We especially enjoy seeing the amazing looks that our HONA nail techs create with the products that we are so proud of. This hollow blue French, showcasing our Stormy Gel Polish is giving us all the feels.

What an absolute triumph! The delicate detail is what makes this look so perfect. We know that when we see creations like this, they truly are a labour of love for the artist. The client is sure to get so many compliments and will get that euphoric feeling of having a fresh new French mani, especially when it’s as flawless as this.
Checkerboards & Quirks
A moment, please. Seriously, let’s take a moment to appreciate this Tour de force in pure nail artistry. Here it’s clear, Abigail had true vision when she created this stand-out look. At HONA HQ, we were giddy with excitement when we saw this design. No wonder Abigail is in the spotlight this week when her work looks like this.

Why We Love it!
The obvious attention to intricate detail has our full appreciation here. The combination of colours and the mix and match style, outstanding. There is so much to look at. We’re all about community and sharing here at HONA ,and we love to get to know the much-appreciated members of the HONA Squad so we asked Abigail some questions to find out more about her:
Why did you choose HONA?
I chose HONA because I wanted to use a brand that I could fully trust. Of course we want our nails to look beautiful, but we can’t do that without a perfect base. Nail health is so important to me.
Name 3 things you’re grateful for
I’m grateful for my client base, my career and my amazing family.
If you weren’t a nail technician, what would be your dream job?
My dream job has always been a beauty therapist so I’m extremely lucky to be doing what I love. However, I’m a real true crime geek, so being a investigator would be quite fun too!
Where do you see yourself in 5 years time?
In the next 5 years I’d love to have gained my teaching qualification.
I’m extremely passionate about my work so if I can help people to achieve their goals using products we love and trust would be a massive step in the right direction for me. Knowledge is key.
